Born in 1957. In 1975 completed flying training on the MI-1 helicopter in the DOSAAF aviation training centre in Egoryevsk. In 1976 completed retraining for Soviet Army Air Force officers on the MI-4 helicopter in the DOSAAF aviation training center in Vyazniki. In 1978 graduated from the Kremenchug flight college with the civil pilot degree (majoring in helicopters). Since 1986 is a MI-8 helicopter commander, since 1991 – the instructor pilot. Performed flights in Kazakhstan, northern regions of Tyumen Oblast, the Caucasus mountains (Armenia), Kamchatka and Chukotka. Has rich experience of working abroad as a commander and instructor pilot on MI-8 and MI-171 helicopters. In 1991-1992 worked as an instructor pilot in India teaching flights to floating offshore drilling units on the MI-8 helicopter. From 1993 to 1996 performed tourist and building and assembly flights on the MI-8 helicopter in Sri Lanka. In 1996 and 1997 performed firefighting flights in Turkey. In 2003-2004 worked as an instructor pilot in Columbia retraining Columbian pilots to fly on MI-171 helicopters. Total flying time on MI-171, MI-8 and related helicopters exceeds 10,000 hours. Has rich experience of flying over the water surface (see), in the mountains, as well as of instrument and night flying. Held a range of positions from the instructor pilot to the chief pilot to the airline flight director. In April 2006 S.A. Romashkov was appointed Director General of CBOSS-AVIA. |
