Irina: ”It’s very satisfying to help customers and see real results of your job”.


One of CBOSS’s cool people is Irina. She started working at CBOSS in 1997. Her solid educational background: Moscow State University of Economics and Statistics, and 6-year experience of data administration in Moscow City Telecommunications Network [MGTS] enabled Irina to learn her new job quickly and effectively.
Her first acquaintance with the company was through her colleagues who at that time were engaged in testing programs for CBOSS, and had believed Irina would be with MGTS after graduation. After six years with the Moscow incumbent, Irina knew all the ropes in customer care. At the same time, promising attractions of fast-paced technology and growing mobile cellular networks became irresistible.
Irina started as a tester and in a few months was promoted to the Implementation Department. Her first experience of implementing CBOSSbcc was gained in the Mobile TeleSystems company. Irina then was nominated to lead the implementation project in Nizhegorodskaya Sotovaya Svyaz in 1998. Irina’s first implementation experience was not very smooth and taught her independence and responsibility. It made her realize that the operation of the customer company directly depends on the quality of her work.
Irina spent much time learning new things through formal and informal methods, motivating and helping her colleagues, scanning documentation, and performing rigid tests of procedures and technologies.
After implementation in Nizhniy Novgorod, Irina participated in the system installation in MTS-Tver, Baikalwestcom, GEOCELL, and led several projects including Sibirskye Sotovye Systemy-900 and Dalnevostochnye Sotovye Systemy-900.
A growing number of CBOSS customers required expansion of the Software technical support and Irina was offered the position of Head of the Technical Support Department.
The Technical Support Department she is leading today has 24 specialists. This is a team of true professionals with outstanding performance, - comments Irina, - a team with extreme cooperative spirit and very adaptive socially.
Irina admits that sometimes they have to work long hours, and such work calls for endurance and dedication. The unique positioning of Technical Support between the company and its customers reveals both negative and positive aspects of interaction. A front end of the company, technical support is performed through direct communication with customers and calls for such assets as readiness to help, accuracy and immaculate professionalism, thus setting high standards for people who work there. Being involved in technical support is not only a major career booster but is very rewarding too: it is the place where you see telecom operators change for the better, and you are proud to see the results of your job, the cooperation, no matter how emotionally-intensive the path to success has been.
Today Technical Support has working relations with 50 telecom operators in the CIS. In Irina’s opinion, it is hard to overestimate the importance of the job: every specialist is responsible for the smooth operation of the whole business, its revenues, profit, and subscriber retention.
Irina’s pastime is devotion to family and friends. Because there are so many smart people and technology is changing so quickly, it is a constant challenge to keep up. Moreover, Irina takes in-house English courses at CBOSS.
Working for CBOSS allowed Irina to get financial stability and independence, and became a new impetus in her career. Her quality of life keeps improving.
