Lao-Asia Telecom State Enterprise was founded in 2002. Since that time the company has been providing quality state-of-the-art mobile and PSTN communication services to its subscribers, the number of which currently amounts to over 15 000 people.

The first billing system used by Lao-Asia Telecom was NewTone. The solution was underdeveloped as it did not support creation of new tariffs and services, modification of service prices, operations with dealers and other features. As well as that LAT met the problems with financial integrity, security against cloned call detail records and PSTN support.

Year 2003 turned to be a milestone for Lao-Asia Telecom, when the company started the collaboration with CBOSS Association. At the time, CBOSS provided LAT with such value-added solutions as voice mail and short message system. Satisfied with the operation of the installed solutions, Lao-Asia Telecom decided to acquire CBOSS billing and customer care system in 2004. In addition, CBOSS willingly offered a number of other value added services: IVR, Internet customer service, network management system, missed call notification, interconnect and many others.

At the stage of implementation, CBOSS team provided prompt and sufficient data migration of the data from the legacy system. Now CBOSS billing and customer care solution works steadily and successfuly automates technological processes of the company. It provides convergence of PSTN and GSM and thus allows working with the standarts in one environment.
