CBOSS Presents a Successful Russian-French Partnership Project

The history of successful partnership between France and Russia on an example of France Telecom and CBOSS was presented by Andrey Morozov, President of CBOSS Corporation, during the fourth meeting of the Russian-French Working Group on information technology, communications and partnership in digital TV and radio broadcasting. The meeting was held 19-21 May in the Rostelecom building under the aegis of the Department of Foreign Relations of the RF Ministry of Communications and Mass Media.

In his presentation, Andrey Morozov said that in 2009, after France Telecom was granted the license to provide GSM and 3G mobile services in one of the countries, CBOSS won the tender to provide technology for comprehensive automation of Orange's business processes. Although the tender commission initially requested a portfolio of specialized products, CBOSS offered CBOSSconvergence³ - a single software and hardware solution to streamline virtually all aspects of the operator's workflow: postpaid, prepaid and hybrid billing, sales and customer care, network management, telematic services, business intelligence, and CRM. CBOSSconvergence³ combines unparalleled reliability and performance, and accommodates future business growth. CBOSSconvergence³ also boasts the lowest TCO in its class. At first, the French side expressed some doubt and considered the actual deployment of an innovative convergent solution to be a little premature.

However, France Telecom was launching a startup company in a saturated mobile market, becoming the third player, which required the shortest possible time-to-market for the whole portfolio of cutting-edge telecommunications services coupled with minimum investment.

Operation of the full-scale comprehensive integrated convergent solution from CBOSS was demonstrated to the France Telecom's tender commission during their visit to NCC, a 100% subsidiary of VolgaTelecom (controlled by the SvyazInvest holding). It is noteworthy that largely thanks to CBOSS solutions, NCC is leading on the highly competitive regional market in Povolzhye. The French experts were surprised by the functionality of the Russian-made convergent solution deployed by NCC and changed their attitude to convergent systems. CBOSS won the tender to supply the platform to the new Orange operator.

This is how technologies, long used by a regional Russian mobile operator, gained international recognition. The project completed by CBOSS for France Telecom resulted in a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN situation for all parties - Operator/State/Business/Subscribers.

With the CBOSS solution, Orange was able to achieve its yearly sales goals in 4 months - capture over 10% of the market, which is usually the limit for the third market player, and become the second largest mobile Internet provider in the country. These ambitious goals were met thanks to the flexibility of CBOSSconvergence³, enabling rapid rollout of innovative communications services and an extensive range of price plans to satisfy even the most discriminating customer.

The state was able to achieve over 85% 3G coverage of the country's territory becoming one of the 5 world leaders, strengthening its image on the international arena. Moreover, France Telecom's market entry created new workplaces and additional tax revenue.

The country's businesses are now able to enhance their enterprise management through up-to-date information technology. In addition, the operator's franchising projects opened new perspectives for small and medium businesses.

Customers can now enjoy high-quality services at a lower price and get access to innovational 'one-stop shop' technology, with Orange stores selling, activating and providing support for all mobile devices.
