CBOSS technologies support reorganization of Georgian operator United Telecom and provide for Silknet new prospects
Reorganization of United Telecom, the largest Georgian fixed-line telecom operator, has resulted in appearance of a new player on the Georgian market - Silknet. The reorganization was facilitated by CBOSS high-tech convergent solutions which also provided for faster subscriber servicing and new business projects on the service range development.
Silknet is formed by merger of United Telecom and its subsidiaries: Wanex and Achara Electrokavshiri and has become the new owner of CBOSS application software licenses previously belonging to United Telecom.
United Telecom has been a CBOSS customer since 2007 and was granted licenses for the following products: CBOSSbcc - Convergent Postpaid-Billing and Customer Care, CBOSSnetInventory – PSTN Inventory Management System, CBOSSmdCDR - Automatic CDR Collection System, CBOSSmdDrive - External Resources Management System, CBOSSip - Scalable Internet Platform.
The United Telecom reorganization is an important milestone of its business activity and CBOSS Corporation has ensured a closer control over operation of software and hardware platform deployed at the company. Our specialists arrived at the Silknet headquarters in Tbilisi to take measures that enabled the company to enhance its business processes, activate new functionalities of CBOSS solutions, and improve the customer care.
To achieve such a high result, CBOSS Technical Support engineers applied the latest module updates, optimized user requests procedure, enabling higher efficiency of customer care. Besides, CBOSS product users were provided with additional consulting. CBOSS engineers answered questions relating to operation of the billing system, customer care, inventory, and demonstrated solution features yet not used at the company.
During the visit, CBOSS specialists also presented CBOSSwcc Customer Care Web Interface features and the Silknet management decided to deploy CBOSSwcc. This product will provide the Georgian telecom operator with a wide range of functionalities enabling remote customer care.
CBOSS offered Silknet business a development strategy using CBOSS high-end technologies for delivery of Internet-based services, and in particular, new generation interactive television - SILK TV. Georgian provinces have quite a high demand for web services. Using CBOSS convergent technologies will enable Silknet to rapidly win this perspective market segment.
As the Silknet fixed-line telecommunication company united three geographically separated systems of United Telecom, Wanex, and Achara Electrokavshiri, the cooperation of CBOSS and Silknet includes a project on subscriber migration. For this purpose, all subsidiaries will be connected to the CBOSS billing system, which has gained the global recognition and helps telecom operators run their businesses successfully.
According to
Andrey Morozov, President of CBOSS Corporation, says “Technological support of ambitious plans of Silknet business development is of our great interest, as it gives us an opportunity to practice new paradigm of implementation of such complex projects. This task should be completed under the condition of tight financial constraint and this requires from us development of a more efficient approach both towards methodology and resources to be used for carrying out the task. In case of successful completion of this joint project, we will offer even more productive turnkey IT solutions on the telecommunication market. I would also note that the planned building of Silknet high-standard corporate reporting system using CBOSS BI technologies will, in my opinion, provide for considerable growth of the value of the merged company”.
