Dear Mr. Morozov, I would like you to consider a report on the CBOSSin 3.5 product, which has been under test operation at your Company. Background of CBOSSin Implementation at NCC CJSC NCC CJSC has always aimed at providing high-quality state-of-the-art services to its subscribers, as well as studying and applying the latest developments in the field of cellular communications. The result is our choice of the intelligent platform as the basis for new services.
IN Services Implemented at NCC CJSC The following services, based on CBOSSin 3.5, have been implemented: The CBOSScallback service is used by NCC subscribers to save on the costs of roaming calls. The service is enabled for roamers only. A subscriber, registered in the visited network, can initiate an incoming call via USSD request, proving cheaper than making a call him/herself. Another service, very popular with prepaid subscribers, is CBOSSsplitscharging. It enables a subscriber to make a call even in spite of insufficient funds. Connection is established only upon obtaining the called party's consent to answer the collect call. The CBOSScallScreening service provides for filtering of both incoming and outgoing calls. User-defined settings of the service profiles and filters enable a subscriber to modify an active profile by a single command and avoid unwanted calls when desired. The wide-range configuration of the service through a Web interface and the capability to easily run it via USSD make the service available both for regular and corporate subscribers when a company is to limit the number of calls made. The CBOSSabd service (Abbreviated Dialing System) applies short 4-digit numbers assigned to subscribers' standard mobile numbers. To make a call to such an anonymous number, the calling party dials a certain CBOSSabd designated number (a regular fixed phone number) followed by the anonymous number, dialed in the tone mode. Connection is established with the standard mobile number of the anonymous number holder. Preliminary Estimation of IN Services from a Marketing Point of View The analysis of calls and recommendations from our company subscribers confirms their interest in the above services. Some of them attract both regular and corporate subscribers of NCC CJSC. System Administration and Performance Monitoring The CBOSSin 3.5 platform is built around a scalable solution providing for the optimization of services load management, system administration, and performance monitoring, owing to the flexibility of the statistics collection system and the centralized CBOSStmn management system. IN Services Implementation and Launch The CBOSSin 3.5 platform has been implemented with the direct involvement of the Customer, i.e. the NCC employees. While working on the project, we considered various subscriber behavior scenarios, as well as possibilities of facilitating the operation with the services and making them as user-friendly as possible. The following aspects have been improved: the procedure of generating connection requests, phone response to USSD requests, service Web interfaces usability, and integration with the services, currently provided by the operator. In addition, we considered the issues of the operator's signal network minimum load so as not to overload the equipment. When implementing the CBOSSin 3.5 platform, the CBOSS specialists showed professionalism, sociability, and willingness to take into account all the interests of the Customer, which helped debug the services' operation and start their commercial use. Subscribers' Response to New Services The recently launched IN platform services are getting popular with NCC subscribers. The most favorable references have been received by Callback and SplitCharging. All the more so as NCC CJSC was the first operator in Russia to provide a service on placing collect calls. The CallScreening service has been highly valued by corporate subscribers for providing them with a flexible and simple means of cellular communication cost minimization. Overall Implementation Estimate These products, provided by the CBOSSin 3.5 platform, meet NSS CJSC requirements. They are completely reliable and of high performance. The implementation of the above products has enabled us to provide our company subscribers with unique services, enjoying wide popularity. The number of subscribers using the new services is steadily growing. Looking forward to further collaboration, A. A. Ponomarenko, |
