To achieve significant growth of production in Russian IT industry and its competitiveness on the global market, the Government is supposed to ensure complex support of the domestic IT industry, stated Andrey Morozov, President of a Russian IT company CBOSS Association at the press conference in Moscow.

According to Mr. Morozov, state support program for Russian IT companies should be based on logical sequence of steps covering various types of governmental support. Among the most important top-priority measures, Andrey Morozov named expansion of the state-guaranteed order of Russian IT products and stimulating internal demand. Besides, he underlined that tax and customs environment favorable for Russian IT companies would be useful for development of the IT industry.

Andrey Morozov believes that implementation of the mentioned measures will help Russian IT companies significantly strengthen their positions and their ability to compete on the global IT market. He emphasized that their activity on the global market could be much more efficient if the Russian companies enjoyed comprehensive assistance of the Government in financial, diplomatic and promotional spheres.

As PRIME-TASS informed earlier, on November 18, 2004 the Russian Government generally approved the «Development of Information and Communication Technologies Market in Russia Till 2010» concept elaborated by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications. The resolution of the Government states that the implementation proposals of the concept in the project of social and economic development program of the Russian Federation for 2005-2008 and in the «Electronic Russia» Federal Target Program should be submitted in January 2005, in addition to the updated concept.
