Irina Glukhova
CBOSS Association, a Russian billing and telecom solution developer, expands its global partnership: a contract has been signed with Public Telecommunications Company — a new Saudi Arabia-based telecom operator licensed to cover the whole territory of the country. CBOSS does not reveal the exact contract value. According to CBOSS President Andrey Morozov, it’s a seven-digit number in US dollars.

«We will supply a high-end complex solution to the Saudi Arabian operator», said Andrey Morozov. He believes that Russia has not yet lost the international competition for the right to produce technology intensive products for the global market. Moreover, CBOSS is quite ambitious in setting goals. The Association aims at gaining a share on the global market compared to that of world’s leading software developers.
«We will be equal to the best, — said Mr.Morozov. — We have already won competition with some large market players several times, and now we feel this competition on particular cases» However, as Andrey Morozov noted, now CBOSS still has to work hard to increase the presence on the global market.
CBOSS President did not name the companies that participated in the tender hold by Public Telecommunications Company. He only mentioned that some of the companies are well known worldwide. «Saudi Arabia is not a poor country, it can afford any solution», said Andrey Morozov. The telecom operator preferred CBOSS to be the supplier of the software complex, as it was sure that «the solution would be supplied, installed and launched according to the schedule, and that further operation and upgrade would cause no issues», Mr.Morozov said.
Commercial operation is scheduled in four months from now. «We will ensure a complex network launch, — said Andrey Morozov, — Network equipment for Public Telecommunications Company is provided by Motorola».
This contract is the sixth international contract signed by CBOSS in 2004. During the year CBOSS implemented its solutions at Jordan, Lao PDR, Thailand, Kuwait, and Italy. According to Andrey Morozov, the company's consolidated annual sales in 2004 will amount $110-120 million, while in 2003 it was only about $80 million.
