www.comnews.ru, March 2008
Launched in September 2005, Spice Nepal Private Ltd (SNPL) is the first privately owned GSM 900/1800 carrier in Nepal. “Despite significant pressure from the state monopoly Nepal Telecom, SNPL was able to achieve rapid subscriber base growth and is headed to capture market leadership,” the company says.
The first upgrade of the software-hardware solution was needed after just 18 months of operation. Back then, the solution was scaled up to serve 900,000 subscribers. The company has already contracted CBOSS to expand its solution to support up to 3 million users.
The CBOSS solution automates all facets of SNPL's business including billing, customer care, settlements with service providers and interconnection partners, network management, mediation, messaging, VAS, business intelligence, reporting, and dealer relations. The solution is based on the convergent real-time prepaid billing system CBOSSrtb running on
Today, the upgrade is in progress. The project includes the implementation of CBOSSrtb's new configuration - Load Sharing Mated Pair. The configuration includes another HP NonStop server, which enables not only higher capacity but also unsurpassed reliability and system maintenance with no service interruption.
“The CBOSS solution allows our business to grow dynamically”, said Dmitry Zaika, CEO at Spice Nepal Private Ltd. “We are sure that CBOSS will help SNPL to become a leader of the regional market in the near future.”
