CBOSS Continues Expansion

CBOSS Association, a Russian developer of billing and CRM solutions for telecom operators, has gained access to the global market. Last week, CBOSS signed a strategic OEM agreement with Hewlett-Packard (HP), under which the parties will provide comprehensive support for each other’s products. According to CBOSS executives, this agreement will position the company as a world-class vendor. So far, HP signed similar OEM agreements with Alcatel, Nokia and Motorola.

"This step is the evidence that attitude of global leading manufacturers to Russian software developers has changed. Now, CBOSS can provide complete, competitive hi-tech solutions to the global telecom market", said CBOSS President Andrey Morozov. HP thinks that this partnership will help it in expanding the global presence.

"CBOSS is our key partner in the telecommunication market. The company has experience in developing software solutions for the industry. CBOSS business relations will help HP to succeed in this segment", thinks Sergey Razmakhaev, head of telecom division of Enterprise Systems Group (ESG), HP Russia.

According to the agreement, CBOSS will purchase HP hardware and software, including HP Non Stop Tandem servers and HP OpenCall INS software. The HP equipment will become a platform of the CBOSSrtb brand. HP will render comprehensive support to solutions provided by CBOSS.

CBOSSrtb was included in the CBOSS portfolio after the acquisition of OBS (On-line Billing Solution) business from the Finnish Fujitsu Services, a part of Fujitsu concern. This billing system is known in the world market under the rtBilling brand (see news release ComNews.ru, February 17, 2004). Back then Andrey Morozov said that the company intended to establish a partnership with HP, since rtBilling was based on solutions developed by HP.
