BelCel's Customers Enjoy 3G Services

BelCel, a Belarusian telecommunications company operating under the DIALLOG brand, has upgraded the convergent CBOSSbcc Billing and Customer Care system to a new release to launch 3G offering including EVDO*-based high-speed data services.

BelCel has upgraded its convergent solution CBOSSbcc Billing and Customer Care. In addition, the telecom operator has installed the latest release of the advanced services and applications platform CBOSSasap and a new version of the Internet platform CBOSSip. Coupled with the upgrade of the hardware platform, these measures allowed BelCel to expand its service portfolio with 3G services (including high-speed Internet access) and dramatically improve QoS.

Superb quality of services is an efficient customer acquisition driver. Today, BelCel’s services are available to 92 per cent of Belarus’ population.

The convergent solution from CBOSS provided BelCel with such competitive advantages as uninterruptible service provisioning and charging, which made BelCel’s 3G services extremely popular. The EVDO traffic has grown more than five times since the beginning of 2007.

*EVDO (Evolution-Data Optimized) – is a wireless radio broadband data standard used in 3G mobile networks. It is standardized by 3GPP2 , as part of the CDMA 2000 family of products. EVDO provides data transmission at speeds of up to 2.4Mbps.

On May 7, 1993 the company launched the first in Belarus NMT-450 analog network based on license #1 issued by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the Republic of Belarus.
