CBOSS Technologies Bring New Opportunities to Baykalwestcom
Baykalwestcom has scaled up its hardware-software convergent CBOSS solution based on the postpaid billing system CBOSSbcc to serve 2 million customers.
The scaling-up was caused by explosive growth of Baykalwescom’s customer base that increased by 500 000 customers over the last 6 months and exceeded 1.5 million. The high customer acquisition rate was largely enabled by the convergent CBOSS solution providing such competitive advantages as wide choice of services and tariffs and superb quality of services in both traditional GSM and next generation CDMA 2000 1x networks.
Based on the CBOSSbcc Billing and Customer Care system, the hardware-software solution from CBOSS comprises 17 products including CBOSSics Internet Customer Service, CBOSSacc Automatic Customer Care, and a wide spectrum of value-added services.
In addition to postpaid billing, CBOSSbcc supports the advance payment scheme – a software implementation of prepaid settlements. Moreover, implemented in CBOSSbcc advance settlement method inherits all the advantages of postpaid systems, including flexible tariffs and risk-free experimentation with bonus and marketing campaigns, which provides operators with even higher ARPU as compared to prepaid platforms.
Today, Baykalwestcom is the leading telecommunications company in Irkutsk Oblast, holding more than 50% of the local market. However, tough competition requires continuous expansion of the existing IT solution functionality. In 2007, CBOSS Corporation has supplied Baykalwestcom with the additional options of the Internet platform CBOSSip, including Mobile IP Subscribers (for settlements with data service users) and CDMA IP Roaming (for settlements with CDMA roamers).
Further facilitating settlements with subscribers, Baykalwestcom installed the CBOSS Money Transfer option that allows customers to use USSD requests to transfer funds between different mobile accounts. The option considerably increases the volume of chargeable traffic running through the operator’s network, as subscribers top up accounts rapidly and continue using services.
Another product added to Baykalwestcom’s CBOSS solution is the bonus management system. CBOSSbonus is a powerful customer loyalty and acquisition tool allowing Baykalwestcom to encourage and award subscribers using promoted telecommunications and data services.
“We’ve been running the CBOSS solution for 8 years. In this time, innovative services and invariably high quality has gained Baykalwestcom the reputation of the best telecommunications company in Eastern Siberia”,- said Dmitry Orlov, Deputy General Director at Baykalwestcom. “One of the key factors of our success in the region is unique functionality of CBOSS products. In a short period of time our subscriber base grew to 1.5 million. Very soon we will reach two million subscribers. I am absolutely sure that the CBOSS products will provide their hallmark quality to this amount of customers as well”.
