CBOSS User Group in Cyprus

October 22-25, 2007, Cyprus hosted the 8th international CBOSS User Group conference held under the slogan "3D Convergence for 3GSM World".

CBOSS User Group is the premier event for telecommunications companies interested in the up-to-date information on how to boost their business efficiency. Overcoming this challenge was the central focus of the conference, which is also reflected in its title "Convergent IT Solutions for Competitive Edge and Increased Revenue in Telecommunications".

Each year CBOSS User Group becomes more global attracting new participants. In 2007 its audience grew by 25 percent.

The conference agenda was very rich. During four consecutive days CEOs, CIOs and other top managers of telecommunications companies shared opinions and discussed the toughest telecommunications issues of today.

The report topics alone can demonstrate the widest spectrum of questions touched upon by participants. Here are just some of them: "CBOSS-based development of billing: from regional telecom to multi-subsidiary service provider"; "MVNO. Opportunities and Solutions"; "Technical Support: Service evolution through experience and innovation". The reporters also discussed such issues as the use of value-added services and implementation of CRM strategies expanding opportunities provided by CBOSS solutions. In addition, they investigated aspects of application of convergent solutions and development prospects of billing, BI, and VAS products, etc.

The conference allowed participants not only to share ideas and opinions with each other, but also to discuss the issues with the CBOSS specialists. Communicating directly, telecoms received the most comprehensive and up-to-date information on the CBOSS solution functionality and development prospects.

Moreover, the participants resolved CBOSS product-related issues immediately with CBOSS project managers and vice presidents and expressed their ideas on further CBOSS product development. All the ideas and remarks will be applied in the product and service development strategy of CBOSS Corporation in 2008.

The last conference day featured the Best Report award ceremony. The best reports were selected by SMS voting. In addition, CBOSS established a special nomination "The most cooperative customer" to award CBOSS customers that demonstrated the highest commitment to cooperation and partnership in course of project implementation. This award was presented to MVNECO (Germany) and NCC (Russia).

CBOSS User Group included two round-table meetings. The first meeting was dedicated to the implementation of a CRM approach in CBOSS solutions. The focus of the second one was placed on value-added services and their optimal combination to enable maximum success of telecommunications companies. The topics of the round tables attracted keen interest, while some of them sparked heated discussions. The meetings' format allowed both: reports from experts and active interaction with the audience. The most intense discussions were regarding a CRM approach in promotion of innovative services and customer acquisition; optimal number of value-added services in telecoms’ service portfolios; and successful marketing of value-added services. While debating, the participants provided multiple vivid examples from their practical experience. The discussions resulted in better understanding of new opportunities in gaining competitive edge and improving profitability. The participants acknowledged the round-table format as very efficient, which prompted the steering committee to use it to a greater extent at the future CBOSS User Group forums.

A versatile social program allowed the participants to continue communications in a less formal environment including multiple tours and entertainment events.

Presenting reports and taking part in debates on the toughest issues of the telecommunications industry, the participants also shared precious hands-on experience that had allowed them to boost business performance. For example, there were great success stories about effective marketing campaigns that had resulted in explosive subscriber base growth and reduction in customer churn.

The conference organization received accolades from the participants, who also acknowledged high value of the summit for telecommunications companies. According to their feedback, CBOSS User Group has a special, conducive to fruitful communication, atmosphere that makes it wonderfully different from all similar events.

CBOSS User Group is a unique venue that encourages not only an open dialog between the vendor and its customers, but also an efficient discussion of the most pressing issues in the telecommunications, sharing of hands-on experience, strengthening of business contacts, and expansion of collaboration between telecommunications companies from different countries.
