CBOSS Introduces CBOSSussdLike for CDMA Carriers

CBOSS Corporation, a leading supplier of billing and OSS solutions, announced its new product CBOSSussdLike enabling the USSD functionality in CDMA networks for faster and more comfortable user interaction with applications and services.

USSD is a technology providing subscribers with fast and convenient access to service management functions, directory information, account balance, and payment data.

USSD is associated with instant messaging technologies such as SMS. However, unlike SMS typically used for messaging between subscribers, CBOSSussdLike is mainly designed for efficient user interaction with services and applications. In USSD, there is no store and forward capability, typical of SMSCs, which considerably accelerates message exchange.

USSD is also capable of performing IVR functions via signaling links, which considerably reduces the load on voice channels. In addition, CBOSSussdLike provides a convenient user interface, which allows subscribers to query the data with one push of a phone button, rather than navigation through multiple voice menus of the IVR.

CBOSSussdLike can be easily integrated with various IN services, providing them with an efficient user interaction channel. Depending on the service code entered by the subscriber, CBOSSussdLike instantly delivers requests to the application. Moreover, if the application sends back an SMS, CBOSSussdLike can convert it into a Flash SMS that is immediately displayed on the mobile phone (if supported).

All user requests and application responses are processed by the integrated platform of CBOSSussdLike. The system analyzes the code entered by the user and forms requests for the corresponding application. The applications' SMS responses are sent back to CBOSSussdLike that delivers them to the subscribers without imposing additional load on SMSCs.

If a carrier’s SMSC has some load margin, CBOSSussdLike can be integrated with it. The existing SMSC will replace the SMS delivery subsystem of CBOSSussdLike, which will reduce the cost of its hardware platform.
