CBOSS Carried out Modernization of Operator's Hardware and Software Platform
CBOSS, a one of the global leaders delivering the telecom business automation systems, and Operator, one of the most dynamic and promising market player of a state in the Caucasus Region, have announced the finish of a complex project for hardware platform extension and the application software upgrade, enabling Operator to service 2,500,000 subscribers.
The carrier is the youngest and most fast developing mobile communications service provider in its country. Automation of the Operator's main business processes, such as real-time billing, customer care, network management, analytical reporting and CRM is enabled by the complex convergent hardware and software platform CBOSSconvergence3.
In its marketing strategy Operator uses the principle of attracting new subscribers by offering them the most up-to-date services and newest technologies. Operator was the first who started the commercial usage of 3G services including video call and broadband mobile Internet access. These functionalities, supported by CBOSS in Operator's infrastructure, allowed its subscribers to enjoy the superior quality of the 3G services.
The advantages of 3G technology, such as the broadband data transfer rate, enhanced quality of voice services and extended network coverage, empowered Operator to improve the subscriber loyalty and attract new clients. Rapid growth of the subscriber base required extension of the hardware platform and upgrade of the CBOSS software. For this purpose, CBOSS specialists developed and implemented at Operator the complex project for extension of the hardware platform of CBOSSconvergence3. The project included relocation of servers, installation of new servers and system software. Along with the extension of the software part of CBOSSconvergence3, the CBOSSasap (Advance Service and Application Platform) and CBOSSip (Internet Platform) releases were upgraded.
The upgrade of CBOSSasap up to version 4.0 enabled transferring of all VAS services to the single CBOSSasap platform to optimize all VAS management and to enhance the efficiency of the messaging systems: CBOSSsms, CBOSSussd, and CBOSSmms. CBOSSasap 4.0 is multi-purposed enough to support various communication standards and flexible rating mechanisms, thus giving the essential advantage to the operator.
Operator's rapidly growing subscriber base and the mobile Internet service demand increase entailed the modernization of CBOSSip, which ensures the delivery and billing of all Internet services of the operator. CBOSSip 4.0.4 meets the newest reliability requirements and has a higher performance as compared to earlier versions. These advantages are owing to the upgrade of the platform component - subsystem responsible for authorization, authentication and statistics account via RADIUS. For statistics collection, CBOSSip 4.0.4 uses a highly productive accounting server allowing the system to shift part of the load from the RADIUS subsystem, improve the request processing performance and the entire platform reliability.
The cost of CBOSSconvergence3 scaling and upgrade was minimized due to the well-balanced integration of its products. Another advantage of the integrated CBOSSconvergence3 platform is the lowest TCO in its class, which provides the quick return of the operator's investment made in the project.
