Callback Service
CBOSScallBack enables the customer to order a call to other subscriber (immediately or after a specified period of time). The call is rated as inbound for both subscribers.
Very often, CBOSScallBack is the only way for a telco to provide roaming to its prepaid customers. The service allows subscribers to make a call even when outbound connection is unavailable, provides convenient automatic dialing and enables subscribers to save the difference between outbound and inbound call rates.
System Operation
Subscriber A requests connection with subscriber B.
Redial start time (call delay) and the request validity period are optional parameters. At the specified time CBOSScallBack dials subscriber B number. B is informed that the connection is initiated by the CallBack server (e.g. by a message “…don’t hang up, please, callback operation is in progress…”). If B has CLIP service activated, A number is displayed. Connection with A is established.
Prepaid Roaming
If home or visited network does not support the CAMEL technology, or roaming partners haven’t contracted the CAMEL roaming, prepaid customer can only have inbound connection as such calls are provided by the home prepaid platform. In such a case the USSD Callback technology enables the outbound connection: if A or B use a prepaid tariff, then the inbound CBOSScallBack-initiated call will be routed through the home prepaid platform.
Prepaid platform checks the subscriber balance and, if the amount is sufficient, allows the connection. As soon as account is zero, the call will be immediately interrupted.
